CW Needs You: Become a Board Member

Each year, Colorado Whitewater holds its annual election during Fall Dinner. There are several positions that will need to be filled. If you'd like to make a difference in the Club and volunteer your time, please check out the list of positions and contact our president, Elizabeth Austen, to express your interest.


Proposed Management Changes for the Upper Colorado River

The BLM is looking for public review and comments by Sept. 25 on preliminary alternatives for managing about 35 miles of the Upper Colorado River between Parshall and State Bridge. Read more

Come Join Your CW Friends for Our Last River Weekend of 2017

We'll be camping on the Colorado River and doing runs on different sections of the Colorado, the Lower Blue & possibly others depending on river levels. Plus, a group potluck will take place Saturday evening.

BONUS: Mat DuMoulin will teach a free clinic for CW members at the Pumphouse play wave on Saturday at 3pm (after the boating trips). Participants must be a current CW member and have a solid roll. Email Dick Alweis to reserve your spot at this free clinic.

Proposal to Relocate the Numbers Launch Site

The USDA Forest Service, San Isabel National Forest, Leadville Ranger District is seeking public comment on a proposal to relocate the Numbers launch site to a new location south of the existing site.  “The new launch site will provide for improved aesthetics, access, and safety.” Read more


Attention Cruise Leaders

Did you lead a cruise in 2017? All cruise leaders will be entered in a drawing for an exciting prize. The drawing will take place at the 2017 CW Fall Dinner. Cruise leaders will be entered in the drawing for each time they led a cruise. Make sure you are included in the drawing! Please send the date(s) and stretch(es) of river that you led to cruises@coloradowhitewater.net by October 1, 2017, to be entered in the drawing. You don’t need to be present at the dinner to win.

If you have a badass boating photo that you took, then we'd love for you to submit it for a chance to be included in the 2018 Colorado Whitewater Calendar. Looking for pictures that are seasonal, colorful, unique angles, wow-factor, so be creative! Read more
