CW Conservation Activities
CW sponsors conservation activities throughout the year. From river cleanups to conservation articles in our bi-monthly newsletter, The Spray, to special events, we promote the health of the riparian environment in the Rocky Mountain Region.
What's Your Conservation Care?
Show me the project and we'll show you the money! (Well, at least as much as we can muster.) CW is soliciting proposals for conservation projects for your favorite abused, neglected, in need of TLC stretch of river, put-in, or take-out. We're looking for projects that can be completed in one day (or less) with a limited number of participants and limited materials/equipment. If you think you've got a river conservation-related project suitable for sponsorship by CW please send your idea to the CW Conservation Director, Jenny McCurdy, by completing our Conservation Project Idea Form.
A select group of CW Board Members will review all received proposals and select a project for sponsorship based on completeness of the proposal and ability to implement. We will periodically review submissions and notify the recipient no later than one month after the submission.

Early August : Colorado Cares Day Browns Creek Access Improvements
Last year, newly built steps on the Arkansas at Brown?s Creek were wiped out by a flash flood. This year a sustainable set of steps will be built. Stay tuned for a final date ? likely to be the first Saturday in August.
September: National Public Lands Day Sidel?s Suckhole Trail Improvements
Help improve trail access to one of our favorite spots on the river to watch the show. There are parts of that trail that are very steep, and therefore not only dangerous, but prone to erosion. We will be rerouting a section of that trail to make it more sustainable. Stay tuned for a final date.
