This series of classes is intended for youth, ages 8-17, and will provide a progression of skills designed to develop safe, strong and confident white water paddlers. This class is suitable for the brand new, intermediate and advanced youth kayakers. Kids will learn about boats, essential gear, paddle strokes, river safety, rolling and bracing, play boating and more. The focus will be on SAFE, FUN boating. Participants will need parental approval. CW has a limited amount of equipment that can be made available for student use.

Where: Carmody Recreation Center
When: 2:30-6:00 pm Levels 1-4 ( There will be 2, 1 ½ hour sessions back to back 2:30-4:00 pm and 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm. We will notify you about which session your kayaker is in once we have the class groupings finalized.
Advance Kids (Level 5) will have 3 pool session on 3 of the dates shown below and 2 River sessions (April 7 and April 21 or TBD)

(6 pool sessions): January 21, February 4, February 25, March 10, April 7, April 21
Moving Water: May 4-5
Cost: CWA is using ACA insurance coverage. Every in- water participant will be required to have ACA membership $40/person to participate. If you will be volunteering in the pool you will also need ACA coverage. Make sure to register for ACA before registering for the Kids team.
