River Weekends 2021

If you enjoy camping, potlucks, hanging out with friends, and a full weekend of boating, then you'll definitely want to come to our river weekends. Similar to our River Cruises, we offer organized cruises for various sections of river depending on your skill level... but for an entire weekend!

Please bear with us as some things may be a little different this year due to COVID. Notably, attendance may be more limited than in prior years, depending on the venue. To make sure we can accommodate as many people as possible we will be requiring registration for river weekends. This will also be helpful for COVID contact tracing if necessary. Depending on circumstances it may also be inappropriate to have pot luck meals. We will also be requiring appropriate safety protocols both on the river and in shuttles.

Current river weekends being planned are:

  • Roaring Fork Weekend, June 11 – 13: We have reserved the group camp site at Amy’s Acres in Glenwood Springs. This is where we camped in 2019 and, don’t worry, it’ll definitely not snow this year! Group camping will likely be limited to 50 participants and total attendance will be limited based on Garfield County requirements. The group site is appropriate for tents, vans and pickup campers only. Anyone who wants to bring a trailer will need to reserve directly with the campground.
  • Arkansas Weekend, July 16 – 18: We have reserved the parking lot adjacent to the Beach at South Main again! This is the same site as 2019, right by the river, and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to use it again. Attendance will be less limited and trailers are welcome.
  • Colorado Weekend, September 10 – 12: We have reserved the group camp site at Pumphouse again but for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights this year. Attendance in the group sites will be limited to 60 people.

Obviously, all of these plans are contingent upon COVID conditions as we approach the event and the venue’s ability to actually host the event based on those conditions. Read Colorado Whitewater's Covid Rules and Procedures.

Beyond river weekends, we are hopeful that we will be able to coordinate river cruises and host a fall dinner in October.
